When does the Little League season start and end?
-
Spring Season: Begins in February, with Opening Day typically held around the second week of March. Depending on your child’s division, the regular season runs through May.
-
Fall Season: Starts in mid-August and runs through the end of October. Fall Ball is inter-league play and is a great opportunity to develop skills or transition to the next division.
How old must my child be to play Little League?
Parkway Little League is open to children ages 4 through 16.
To determine your player’s official Little League Age, use the charts below:
Can I choose what team my child plays on?
We do our best to honor team or coach requests in Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions.
For Minors and above, teams are formed through a draft process, so we are unable to accommodate specific requests in those divisions.
When will I know what team my child is on?
-
Minors, Majors, Juniors, and Seniors: Managers will contact players immediately following team drafts, usually within a few days (drafts are typically held in early March).
-
Tee Ball and Coach Pitch: Managers will reach out after teams are formed, usually in mid to late March.
When will I receive practice schedules and locations?
Your child’s Manager will provide all practice details once teams are finalized. Each team’s schedule may vary depending on field availability.
When will game schedules be available?
Game schedules are posted on our website and/or sent by your Manager once finalized—typically by mid-March.
Do I need to buy a team uniform?
The League provides each player with a hat and jersey.
Parents are responsible for baseball pants, belt, and socks—please wait to purchase these items until your Manager confirms the team colors.
What equipment will my player need?
-
Required: Personal glove and a Little League–approved batting helmet.
(While the league provides one shared helmet per team, we recommend having your own for fit and hygiene.)
-
Provided by League: Bats, balls, tees, and catcher’s gear for team practices and games.
-
Note: Boys must wear an athletic cup.
Can my child use their own bat?
Yes! Players are welcome to use their own bats, as long as they meet Little League’s current standards.

You can volunteer as a Coach, Umpire, Scorekeeper, or help in many other areas.

Is Little League available for girls?
Yes! Parkway Little League welcomes both boys and girls.
Many girls start in Tee Ball or Coach Pitch, and some later move to Softball—but they’re always welcome to continue playing baseball if they choose.
We encourage all players to sign up and be part of the fun!
